Chained in Light
This piece was inspired by the delicate glint of a piece of jewellery transformed when set against glass. The blue glass tiles shimmer with varying hues, shifting beautifully as light filters through from different angles. The chains framing each square symbolise the constraints often placed on beauty, capturing it within boundaries that limit its natural brilliance. This design reflects both the allure of light and colour and a quiet defiance—a reminder of the freedom and radiance that lie beyond the confines of convention.
Forest Emblem
The inspiration for this draws inspiration from the rich, layered hues of a deep forest and the timeless structure of heraldic designs. The different shades of green glass symbolise the shifting tones of nature—from sunlit leaves to mossy shadows, each square captures a unique aspect of the forest’s depth and vitality. The rolled lead shapes, reminiscent of a protective crest, convey a sense of guardianship and tradition, as if the forest itself were a noble emblem, guarding the mysteries within. This piece reflects both the majesty and resilience of nature, blending ancient symbolism with a celebration of the natural world.
Royal Residence
This glass artwork features a collection of warm orange hexagonal glass shapes, arranged to evoke the orderly beauty of a honeycomb. The centre hexagon holds sparkling jewels, symbolising the queen bee or the essence of royal jelly within the hive. These central jewels serve as a focal point, drawing attention and adding a sense of regal significance to the composition. The translucent orange tones capture and reflect light, highlighting the jewels’ special place amidst the hexagonal array. Together, the hexagons and jewels celebrate the beauty and unity of the beehive, honouring the central role of the queen bee within this vibrant, organic world.
